Born in Belgrade, young Serbian baritone Lazar Parežanin will make a debut in the 24/25 season at Theater an der Wien in the Kammeroper this Fall in Monteverdi’s Combattimenti under the baton of David Bergmüller.
The young baritone has been pursuing his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since the autumn of 2021 under the guidance of Prof. Martin Vácha. In 2024, he continues his studies under the renowned German baritone Markus Eiche at the Zurich University of the Arts.
During his academic journey, Parežanin has gained extensive solo stage experience, performing in various university productions. Notably, he portrayed Dr. Cajus in Otto Nicolai's The Merry Wives of Windsor at the Schönbrunn Palace Theater.
In addition to his operatic work, Parežanin enjoys a vibrant concert career, having performed on numerous occasions in both Austria and Serbia. His concert activities have led him to the prestigious Kolarac Endowment Hall in Belgrade, where he is set to perform this fall.
As a rising talent, Parežanin has won numerous awards. In 2023, he received the Special Prize of the ENOA (European Network of Opera Academies) at the International "Bruna Spiler" Competition, along with the Laureate prize. He was also a participant in the "Operosa Festival” in Montenegro the previous year.
