Biography

Indre Pelakauskaite opens the 2024/2025 season with a return to Theater Heidelberg as a member of the ensemble.  

She will debut in Switzerland at the Musikkollegium Winterthur as Marzelline (role debut) in Beethoven‘s Fidelio, a production on tour from Theater Heidelberg.  This fall Indré also debuts the role of Daphne in Theater Heidelberg's new production of Kusser's Adonis. She will also debut Karolka in Janáček's Jenůfa in Heidelberg, and next summer debuts the role of Micaëla in Bizet's Carmen at the Schlossfestspiele Heidelberg. She will also sing the soprano solo in Mendelssohn's Elias with Heidelberg Philharmonic. 

Last season the artist joined the ensemble of Theater Heidelberg, and made her highly acclaimed debut as Tatiana in Tchaikovsky's Onegin. In 2022/2023 Indre was a member of the opera studio at Theater Krefeld und Mönchengladbach where she performed the roles of the First Spirit (Dvorak's Rusalka), First Spirit (Mendelssohn Sommernachtstraum), Hélène Le Barrois (Messager Passionnément), Lisa (Bellini La Sonnambula).  

In 2022 Indré made her debut at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Jouvenot in Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur.  The Lithuanian soprano studied in Hamburg and Vienna, perfected her technique in masterclasses with Siegfried Jerusalem, Laura Aikin, Krassimira Stoyanova and Violeta Urmana. She is a laureate of Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg singing competition 2022, the 3rd and the audience prize winner of the Hans Staud singing competition in 2022.
