Gaja Vittoria Pellizzari

Biography

In 2024, Italian soprano Gaja Pellizzari sang the title role in the modern premiere of Fux's “Regina Saba” Oratorio under the baton of Stefan Gottfried at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna, winning the “Fux Prize” and she was part of “Accademia Vivaldi” at Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice.

Hailed by Online Musik Magazine as an “unbelievably agile soprano,” Gaja Vittoria’s repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music and includes both mezzosoprano and soprano roles (Zwischenfach). Born in Udine, Italy, she started her musical journey as a violinist and later graduated in “Opera” (MA) from the “Conservatorio J. Tomadini” in Udine under the guidance of soprano Annamaria Dell’Oste and pianist Ferdinando Mussutto. She subsequently graduated in “Lied & Oratorium” (MA) in Vienna at the MDW University under the guidance of KS Krassimira Stoyanova.Passionate about both operatic and lied repertoire, she has presented themed art song recitals in duet with pianist Alessandro Del Gobbo, such as “DE MULIERIBUS: donne, streghe e sirene” and “Souvenirs d’Europe,” at several festivals, including Carniarmonie, Festival Internazionale di Musica Sacra, Mittelcult, and Filosofia in Città. In 2021, she was part of the “Rossini in Wildbad Festival”’s Academy. In the same year she sang Despina in a cinematic version of “Così Fan Tutte,” directed by Mauro Trombetta. In September 2020, she debuted the role of Despina (Mozart: Così fan tutte) at Operastudio Molise. In December 2019, she sang Susanna (Mozart: Le Nozze di Figaro) at Teatro Comunale di Pergine Valsugana (Director: Mauro Trombetta; Conductor: Andrea Fuoli). In 2019, she performed the role of Giannetta (Donizetti: L'elisir d’amore) in a coproduction of Piccolo Opera Festival FVG and the Jerusalem Opera (Director: Enzo Iorio; Conductor: Omer Arieli). She also collaborated at the Panicale Opera Festival ascover for the role of Isabella (Rossini: L’inganno felice) at the Teatro Cesare Caporali (Director: Primo Antonio Petris; Conductor: Patrick David Murray). She was also selected by Mara Zampieri’s Cantiere all’Opera, where she sang Serpina in a concertversion of Pergolesi's “La serva padrona.”

She won 3rd Prize at the “Seghizzi” Lied competition, the “Schiller” Special Prize for Lied at the “SOI Fiorenza Cedolins competition,” and was a finalist at the “Salice d’Oro” Competition.
