Biography
Born in 1986 in Moldova into a family of musicians, Olga Busuioc grew up immersed in music. Her mother, mezzo-soprano Tatiana Busuioc, was her first vocal teacher, while her father, tenor Nicolae Busuioc, shared with her the secrets of stagecraft, drawing from his extensive international career alongside the legendary Maria Biesu.
Olga graduated from the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Chișinău and refined her artistry in Italy under the mentorship of the legendary Mirella Freni.
A laureate of numerous prestigious international competitions—including Operalia (Placido Domingo), Francisco Viñas in Barcelona, Stanisław Moniuszko in Poland, and the Belvedere Competition in Vienna—her talent quickly attracted the attention of the world’s leading figures in opera. Placido Domingo invited her to sing La Bohème in Los Angeles, perform at the Domingo Gala in Salzburg, and appear at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia. She has also participated in tributes honoring Luciano Pavarotti in Modena.
Olga’s career has since taken her to the most prestigious stages worldwide, including the Philharmonie de Paris, Teatro Real Madrid, Dutch National Opera, Teatro di San Carlo, Glyndebourne Festival, Polish National Opera, Hungarian State Opera, Müpa Palace of Arts, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Staatsoper Hannover, Opernfestspiele Heidenheim, and many more.
Her repertoire spans the greatest soprano roles, from the title roles in Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Manon Lescaut, Rusalka, and Elisabeth in Don Carlo, to iconic roles such as Tatiana in Eugene Oneghin, Iolanta, Mimi in La Bohème, Michaela in Carmen, Margherita and Elena in Mefistofele, Liù in Turandot, Anna in Le Villi, Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Desdemona in Otello, and Antonia/Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann.
In the 2025 season, Olga will return to the stage as Tosca at Staatsoper Stuttgart and Staatsoper Hannover, while in Prague she will perform Desdemona in Otello and the title role in Rusalka.
Her voice—luminous, expressive, and effortlessly soaring—is celebrated for combining emotional depth with vocal elegance, captivating audiences around the world.

Reviews
Desdemona at Staatsoper Stuttgart
